I will present my research findings that revealed the ways in which makers’ spaces impacted creativity, critical thinking, and motivation in gifted students, and then led to the phenomenon of a multileveled category of giftedness. This will be hands-on. You will be making. It may be loud. Expect not to be sitting through this.

Training Junior Astronauts, Engineers, Scientists, and Pilots
We received a Community Build Grant to explore space and aviation career paths. We will collaborate with the Fontana and Chaffey Unified School Districts, Shades of Blue Aviation, the Barboza Space Center, and the Ontario International Airport. Our students will learn how to work on Mars simulated astronaut tiger teams. Students study about Mars, design engineering, cybersecurity, astronaut tiger team training, astrosociology, Mars settlement design, drones, robotics and, earning a pilot’s license.

Using Technology to Differentiate Learning in a GATE Cluster Classroom
In this session, attendees will be given examples of how to use technology in order to
differentiate and ignite learning. Google Classroom, iPad, iPhones, and many low cost apps along with other ideas will become the focus and applied to the content areas of math, reading, writing, social studies, and science. From this session you will be given ideas on how imbed the use of a Green Screen, Stop Motion Animations, Makey Makey Controllers, and Scratch along with other ideas.
