By understanding the environmental, social, and emotional components of boredom, educators and parents can empower learners to make meaningful choices, restore attention, and reframe harsh inner (boredom) voices.

In this session, we discuss how to infuse creativity into differentiated best practices for gifted learners. Differentiation provides a flexible range of learning opportunities, facilitating an “optimal match” that’s individually targeted and respectful of diversity—inviting choice, inquiry, and creative possibilities. We consider key aspects of creativity; ways to foster tenacity; important strategies for teaching and learning; creativity in relation to challenge and change; and how to facilitate channels for resourcefulness, joy, motivation, problem-solving, and cognitive advancement.
